Living with Clear Aligners
Don't stop living
your best life
-
Keep eating all your favorite foods.
-
Stay active in all the sports and activities you love.
-
Keep brushing and flossing just as you normally do, with no brackets or wires to get in the way.
-
You'll experience fewer emergency visits, without the hassle of brackets and wires breaking.
-
Your Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible, so people may not even notice you’re wearing them.
Wearing Your Aligners
-
You'll be ready for anything, from doing sports to hanging with friends. Just take your aligners out to eat and drink, then brush your teeth before putting them back in.
-
Wear your Invisalign clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day for best results.
-
You'll wear each set of aligners for one to two weeks, as prescribed by your doctor.
-
You’ll schedule check-ups to check your progress and pick up the next batch of aligners. Fewer doctor visits mean more time to enjoy life.
-
When you start wearing each new set of aligners, you may feel a little extra pressure or discomfort for the first few days, which is totally normal.
The Six A's of Aligner Therapy

1. Aligner
For Aligners to work properly, 22 hours of wear time per day is recommended.

2. Attachments
These are small, tooth colored shapes that are attached to the teeth. They help the aligners to grab and position the tooth.

3. Auxiliaries
Sometimes patients are asked to wear auxiliaries, such as rubber bands to help move teeth.

4. Adjustment
If the teeth are very crowded, it may be necessary to adjust the teeth with pressure points that are added to the aligner to "adjust" the teeth.

5. Additional Aligners
After your first full set of aligners, if the teeth are not exactly where we want them, it may be necessary to add additional aligners, called refinement aligners.

6. Afterwards
After completing your Aligners treatment you will be given retainers that must be worn as prescribed for as long as you want your teeth to stay straight.
